United States Vice President-elect Kamala Harris has named her Chief of Staff, Domestic Policy Advisor and National Security Advisor -- an all-women team -- which she said has the experience to hit the ground from day one.
Harris, 51, whose mother was from Chennai and father from Jamaica, is one among the six Democratic leaders, whom The Washington Post said are the top contenders to bag the party's nomination for the 2020 presidential elections.
Harris, 54, would beat Trump most handily -- by a 10-point margin -- if the election were held now, according to an online poll carried out by Axios.

By naming the 55-year-old lawyer and politician from California as his running mate, Biden made history by selecting the first Black woman to compete on a major party's presidential ticket. From 2014 to 2017, Gupta served as the assistant attorney general for civil rights under President Barack Obama, where she advanced criminal justice reform, prosecuted hate crimes, protected voting rights and fought against discrimination.
"God willing, it's going to save a lot of lives," Biden said at the White House as he finished signing the bill.

Trump said that Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach was "occupied by a large group of FBI agents".

The international community must be clear that such a behaviour is unacceptable, a top US senator said.
